The groups involved in the program have several instrumental and analytical techniques, which represent a large proportion of infrastructure required to carry out the programs and to be available for the rest of the participant groups.  Here are as follows:

UAH-QA Group


  • Capillary liquid chromatograph (micro-LC)

  • 3 liquid chromatograph (HPLC) with ultraviolet (UV) and fluorescence detector, one of them with a fraction collector

  • 2 mass spectrometer, one of them with quadrupole-time of flight detector (QTOF) and the other one with an ion trap (IT), both coupled to a HPLC, micro­LC and CE

  • Protein fractionator by off-gel isoelectric focusing

Furthermore, this group has access to different Research Support Centre in Alcalá University.


CSIC-AA Group


  • Capillary electrophoresis (CE­DAD)

  • 2 Liquid chromatograph coupled to refraction index (IR), UV-Vis with diode array detector (DAD) and fluorescence

  • Liquid chromatograph coupled to refraction index detection and DAD for molecular exclusion

  • Liquid chromatograph coupled to tipple quadrupole mass spectrometer

Moreover, this group has access to the Research Support Centre of ICTAN-CSIC where two pilot plants for food processing are highlighted, a sensorial analysis unity with experimental cooking and tasting rooms, refrigeration plant, and cell cultures unit, among others. Of special relevance is the Access to the instrumental, microbiological and analytical  techniques unit (belong to RED-LAB) which has a wide range of scientific instrumentation (ionic chromatography, 3 GC-MS and two of them with head space, atomic absorption, HPLCQQQ, HPLC­QToF, libraries, etc.).
